From September 2003, the blue recycling bin
fortnightly collection service will be extended borough wide. Two sizes of
bin are available to residents: 140 litre or 240 litre. Residents are
given calendars to remind them of their recycling collection day, which is
the same as weekday as their regular refuse collection. Free clear plastic
sacks are available if residents cannot accommodate a bin. Materials
collected under the scheme include: A dedicated freighter picks up the recycling, which is kept completely separate from the refuse collection. To obtain more information or order a bin or sacks, please phone the Recycling Helpline on 01252 398164. NB: Glass cannot be collected in kerbside recycling for health and safety reasons, and because broken glass contaminates the other recyclables. Please take your glass bottles and jars to your local bottle bank.
