All 61,000 households in the borough have kerbside recycling collections.

Opticians - Many opticians will accept old spectacles which are
then sent to developing countries.
Chemists - Many chemists or pharmacists will accept your old
medicine bottles and jars for reuse or recycling, and dispose of the old medicines
carefully.
Nappy laundering services - Consider "real" nappies as
an alternative to disposables. Contact the National Association of Nappy Services (Nans) on

Charity shops - Most charity shops are grateful to accept clean
clothing,books, bric-a-brac and household items, and some collect silver foil and used
