| Souths businesses are talking rubbish! Specialist seminar on the benefits of reducing rubbish Businesses in the south will have the opportunity to learn about how to reduce waste and how this can benefit the working lives of companies at a specialist seminar organised by Project Integra, the force behind Hampshires trail-blazing War on Waste campaign. The breakfast seminar, which is to be held in conjunction with the Southern Daily Echos Business World, is free and will take place at The Echos offices on Wednesday 12th August from 8am till 10am. The aim of the seminar, which is targeted at businesses throughout Hampshire, is to raise awareness of the need to reduce waste; advise businesses on ways of incorporating waste reduction and recycling into their working lives, and, to show companies how this can lead to improved financial savings and performance. The seminar will be introduced by a representative from Project Integra - the co-operative body which is a partnership between the County Council, the 11 district and two unitary councils of Hampshire and the private waste disposal company Hampshire Waste Services. Speakers at the seminar will be Tony Miles, Commercial Manager of Hampshire Waste Services and Mark Goldthorpe, Environment in Business Manager of the Southampton Environment Centre. A local business which has already invested in waste minimisation and reaped the rewards will provide a case study. Angela Bethell of Project Integra commented: "As far as reducing waste is concerned, unfortunately the business world is lagging behind. Many individuals have made a commitment to, for example, recycling, and we have seen through War on Waste that their awareness of waste reduction is improving, but most businesses remain relatively unaware of the issues. This seminar will provide them with the information they need to make a start."
