| Recycling in the daylight Recycling at Household Waste Recycling Centres in Hampshire will only take place in daylight from 1 October 1999, when winter opening hours of 8am to 4.30pm come back into force. It is estimated that Hampshire's residents make over 3 million visits a year to the 24 Household Waste Recycling Centres provided by Hampshire County Council. These facilities regularly recycle over 60 per cent of all materials delivered. Household Waste Recycling Centres can take a vast range of materials ranging from glass bottles and jars to garden waste and household furniture. Some items of unwanted furniture and household items can be obtained on site from the operator. The centres also operate a free CFC removal service for all refrigerators and freezers that are delivered. Winter hours remain in force until 1 April when HWRCs return to summer hours of 8am to 7pm. 21 September 1999 Note: Please contact your nearest HWRC for local variations. Telephone numbers are available on the Project Integra website at www.integra.org.uk or by contacting James Potter, Contract Officer, Waste Management Section on 01962 847024. For further information please contact Lorna Shearman at Hampshire County Council on 01962 847368. |
