Hart Council seeks volounteers
for National Spring Clean

Hart District Council are encouraging volunteers or groups to get a grip on litter during April by helping in the Tidy Britain Group National Spring Clean campaign.

Groups or individuals interested can register themselves with the Tidy Britain Group free on 0800 783 7838. They will receive a pack with information, tabards and posters to help them promote their event. Hart District Council are offering free refuse bags and gloves and the loan of litter pickers and hi-visibility clothing to any groups in their area who call them on 01252 622122 extension 4535.

Stuart Robbens, Recycling Officer, from Hart District Council said, "This is a great opportunity for people to do something about the concerns we all have about litter. I am looking forward to hearing from any group, large or small who want a cleaner place to live or work."

Hart District Council can also arrange to collect any rubbish collected by groups and recycle drinks cans that are separated into bags.

20 March 2000

For further information please contact Stuart Robbens or Quentin Wallace-Jones at Hart District Council on 01252 622122 extension 4535 or 4477.
