Glass record shattered

New Forest residents recycled more glass bottles and jars than ever before in December.  250 tonnes of glass were put into the bottle banks in December, equivalent to 3/4 million glass bottles.

Councillor Brenda Smith, Chairman of Environmental Services and Licensing Committee said:  "This is smashing!  We congratulate the residents of the New Forest for their efforts and their commitment to the environment. We have secure contracts for all the materials we collect, so the message is Carry on Recycling!"
