Project Integra invite you to share our Beacon experience at Open Day 2 (revised and reissued)

Project Integra, Hampshire’s partnership strategy for dealing with household waste, will be holding its second Beacon open day on
18 October at The Harlington Centre in Fleet.

Integra has been awarded Beacon status by the DETR because of its unique partnership between Hampshire’s 14 local authorities and main contractor Hampshire Waste Services Ltd. The groundbreaking strategy embraces all kinds of recyclables collections and disposal methods, and Integra are keen to share their knowledge and experience with others, and exchange information and ideas.

The open day on 18 October will focus on Locking waste management into sustainable and economic development, concentrating on waste as a resource. The aim is to focus on the recovery of material resources from the current waste stream and consider the implications for ‘closing the loop’. This will include delegate-led workshops, offering interactive working with key people from all sectors involved in waste and recycling – a real learning opportunity for all delegates. The day is aimed at local government waste management officers; economic development officers; chief executives; strategy and policy officers; industrialists and community businesses.

Full information about Project Integra and its Beacon status is available on the Integra web site, www.integra.org.uk. Click on the Beacon logo, and have a look at the section About Project Integra. Many Integra Leaflets and Publications are also available on-line, to avoid wasting paper and practice what we preach – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
