UNDERWEAR!

Project Integra, Hampshire’s Waste Management partnership this month launches an appeal for your unwanted clean underwear. With Valentine’s Day on 14 February, you might be thinking about getting rid of the old to make room for the new! When you receive your luxurious new lingerie, spare a though for those who haven’t even heard of Valentine’s Day!

There is enormous demand for clean second hand underwear, in Africa, the Baltic States and other countries where there is no indigenous textile industry, and where these items are hard to come by. Bras, vests, pyjamas, knickers, boxer shorts, and other under garments can be taken to any one of a network of charity clothing banks throughout Hampshire.

Project Integra, supported by the Salvation Army, will be holding Town Centre displays in the Swan Centre, Eastleigh on the morning of Thursday 7 February and in Gosport Town Centre on Tuesday 12 February (morning). Clean underwear, and other items of clothing and shoes, may be brought to these displays for reuse or recycling or, at any time they may be put in one of the clothing banks.

If you’re not sure where your local bank is ask your local district council Recycling Officer, or visit www.integra.org.uk/recycling for a list of recycling banks in your area.
