New Hazardous Household Waste Service
Ever wondered what to do with all those old gardening products,
chemical cleaners, antifreeze and other potentially dangerous substances
that are lurking in the garage or garden shed? Well getting rid of
them safely is now easy - and free - with a new Project Integra initiative
being delivered through nine household waste recycling centres in
Hampshire, including Portsmouth and Southampton. For more
information about the service and the sites that are able to take this
material, follow the link to the information leaflet, Hazardous
Household Waste.
Use your local recycling banks.

Project Integra's latest campaign is to encourage Hampshire residents to
use their local recycling banks. There is a network of these
throughout the county in supermarket and pub car parks. Various
items are accepted in different recycling banks and residents are
especially encouraged to use them for glass bottles and jars, textiles and
shoes.

Real nappy campaign
Since April 2002 all babies born at the Royal
Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) are using washable cotton nappies, free of charge, as part of a joint initiative between the
RHCH, Project Integra (Hampshire's Integrated Waste Management Partnership) and Cotton Bottoms nappy laundering service. This project aims
to make people aware of the alternatives to disposable nappies and
to
encourage more parents to use them. For more information about this initiative, follow the Nappy link.
