The paper, cans and plastic bottles collected for recycling are delivered to the Materials Recovery Facilility (MRF).
The recyclables are fed onto a conveyor belt by a mechanical loader ready for sorting.
The recyclable items are sorted by a combination of mechanical and manual sorting.
Each type of material is baled and sold for reprocessing, to be made into recycled products for you to buy!
