Conservation Foundation, The
Founded in 1982 as a means for people in public, private and non-profit sectors to collaborate on environmental causes.  Includes a UK and international diary of environmental events.

Cotton Bottoms
Cotton Bottoms are leading the way in environmental nappy systems, offering benefits all round by helping parents to care for their baby and their future environment at the same time.

DETR (Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions)
The DETR's web site offers information about current issues, publications and contacts.

DETR Material Information Exchange
The DETR have developed a special web site, the MIE.  It holds information about contacts and markets to buy and sell recyclables, to utilise recyclable waste, and dispose of other waste quickly in order to avoid storage problems and cost penalties.

Down To Earth
The international conference that was held in Southampton, Hampshire, 22-24 September 1999 on consumption and the consumer, feeding into Earth Summit III 2002.   Project Integra hosted this event.

ebco (Environmental Bodies' Council)
The representative council providing advice on the operation of the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme (established by Entrust), on behalf of environmental bodies.

Energy from Waste Association

The largest international network of environmental groups in the world, represented in fifty-two countries.

Going for Green
Going for Green is the biggest national environmental awareness campaign aimed at the British public. Launched in February 1996, it is funded by both the Department of the Environment and the private sector and enjoys all-party political support.  One Going for Green initiative is the "are you doing your bit?" campaign.

GreenNet is part of the only global computer network specifically designed for environment, peace, human rights and development groups.

Greenpeace
The official site of Greenpeace. Includes information about Greenpeace actions and a regularly updated Press Release area.

grownupgreen -  a website that encourages and supports households to think and act more sustainably in a lively and  interactive way.  It is aimed at households who would like to make more informed choices on issues such as renewable energy, managing household waste, purchasing of consumer goods and much more.

The Natural Resources Initiative is aimed at achieving a step change in the way we perceive and use natural resources in Hampshire, the region and the country. Improvement and development agency for local government. 
Linked to the DETR, and responsible for the Beacon Council initiative.

INCPEN
The Industry Council for Packaging and the Environment.  A UK non-profit organisation established in 1974. INCPEN researches the environmental and social effects of packaging.

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM)
The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management was established in 1898, then functioning under the title ‘Association of Cleansing Superintendents.’

Recoup (Recycling of Used Plastic Containers)
The UK's biggest organisation promoting the recycling of plastics into things like fleece jackets; educational samples are available.  The web site demonstrates how plastics are recycled; markets, prices; and the latest news on plastic bottle recycling. 

Recycling Expert
Recycling Expert covers all aspects of saving as much as possible for re-use. It covers the history of recycling, the methods used, and practical tips to encourage everyone to 'do their bit' for the environment. The website offers a collection of easy to access information written by professionals, helping to spread the news of the importance of recycling.

Recycling Products Guide
Includes 'Recycled products database': search for brand names, companies, products; 'Buying recycled': a clear introduction to buying recycled products; and a public notice-board, where you can leave/read other's messages. Managed by Waste Watch.

Recycling Glass
One for the children!  A good introduction to recycling for the little ones.   Well illustrated, fun, informative.
A section for teachers inviting them to send for a free educational pack.

Southampton Environment Centre
The Southampton Environment Centre was conceived in 1990 by a group of Southampton residents. It is a non-campaigning organisation and entirely non-political.

Southampton Real Nappy Network
A new voluntary organisation committed to promoting the use of
reusable nappies across the south of England.

Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau
The Steel Can Recycling Information Bureau is funded by British Steel, and forms part of the British Steel Packaging Recycling Unit.

Waste Watch is a charity whose inspiration and values derive from a desire to protect the environment by ensuring the sustainable use and disposal of scarce resources, primarily by advocating waste reduction, reuse and recycling of materials.

WasteWeb
Inexpensive promotional opportunities on the World Wide Web for waste related companies and organisations.

WRAP
WRAP (the Waste and Resources Action Programme) is a major new organisation which has been set up to promote sustainable waste management. Its role is to remove barriers to waste minimisation, re-use and recycling, and to create stable and efficient markets for recycled materials and products.
